Are we really free?

In our country, everyone is talking about a change or reform, some for corruption, some for media, some for education, some for administrative system, some for electoral and political system, some for Health care management, some for food security, some for social security, and there are such endless issues. Are we not good in any of these domains? Why we are asking for changes?
We need to know the reason behind all these drawbacks in our system. Updating the system is a thing which goes with the time, whereas, structural changes in the system is a different thing which we are seeing now a days, a need for structural changes.
What is the core issue behind it? Why our systems are not adequate? If we give our thoughts on this question, we find a very simple answer – that is the Rules/ Legislations which govern us and which govern our system were made by the English people during our slavery time, British people made rules and legislation to control Indians, to exploit Indians and to not allow Indians to grow and lead a life with dignity.
After a freedom fight we got freedom from the clutches of British Government, but we are still governed by the rules and laws they made to exploit us. Today, systems are same only people have changed to rule us. Today, we are exploited by Police, by our Govt. Offices, and by politicians, why? Because the structure is same as it was before independence, only people have changed. Those who are now in power and government now and ruling over the general population and country’s resources are doing same as the British were doing.
So it is not a fault of person sitting on a Govt. Chair, but it is the fault of rules and laws which we have given them to function. The person is exploiting us because we are allowing exploiting ourselves. This is our country; we have adopted democracy as a system of regime, so we have to give the authority to our representatives to function in Government.
This is again our responsibility to threw away the British Rules, as we sent the British people back in 1947. Because, if we are still following the rules made by them we are not literally free, they are still ruling us.
You just imagine, a dictator came into power and made some laws to rule over people, people became aware, awakened and they threw away the dictator and appointed another ruler from among them but continued with the rules which that Hitlar or dictator made during his time. Can we expect that the new person could serve us in desired manner?
Similar situation is with our country, our people who are leading the country at different levels are not wrong, but the rules and laws made by British have compelled them to work in the way British were working.
We need to change the legislations which were enacted during the British time. If we see an example, Police law, labour and employment law, administrative law, and other all important legislations being followed today were enacted by British. We also need to rewrite our constitution for many reasons.
So can you now imagine that we are still slaves of British rules, don’t you think you should make efforts to change these laws?
On the other hand current wind of society calls for more ethical environment to live value based life, which requires structural focus and determination to co-create such environment along with the individual change and commitment to the ethical values. Legislations drive the system, we in democracy adopt the law as our ruler rather a person, we appreciate rule of law. So to target a value-based society, value-based legislations are of prime importance.
We now need to make legislations based on our National and Cultural values, which we don’t find in British time laws.
In Mahatma Gandhi’s edge many youths came into freedom fight movement, the circumstances make it worth for individuals to satisfy their lives by doing the best for their nation and society as a whole. This is the call of existence to you people, if you won’t do it, your heart won’t stay in rest. Time is calling… calling… calling… Will you still be in sleep? NO…….., AWAKE AND ACT….
